A bicycle rack built for South Africa
As the saying goes, "necessity is the mother of invention". We initially tried to run our tour business with commercially available bike racks, but they were not robust, became costly to maintain and put our customers bikes at risk. Load and offload times were also unacceptable.
The KAROORAK system was first designed and tested on a 32 bike trailer and we then later built hitch mounted versions. We have been using the system in it's current form for 4 years and have transported hundreds of customer's bikes over thousands of kilometres of Karoo dirt roads.
Production parts and powder coating will be outsourced to companies in the George, Western Cape area, assembly, quality assurance and packaging will be done at our warehouse and shipped out using the "The Courier Guy". Customer assembly will be relatively simple using spanners and allen keys.
You can put down a R3000.00 deposit to place a priority reservation in the production line if you so wish. We will invoice you the balance when we ship the rack.

We are behind on our production schedule, due to the demand we experienced when we launched the rack, we decided to immediately go to phase 2 of our production, which was to outsource all components to CNC laser and machining service providers. This has been a major learning curve for us, as well as a challenge to gear a production line with multiple outsourced components coming from companies with their own production plans. The positive is that the rack has had some improvements made to it due to the exposure to many more experienced individuals. Bear with us we are a few weeks away from mass production and distribution capability.
