A bicycle rack built for South Africa

As the saying goes, "necessity is the mother of invention". We initially tried to run our tour business with commercially available bike racks, but they were not robust, became costly to maintain and put our customers bikes at risk. Load and offload times were also unacceptable.

The KAROORAK system was first designed and tested on a 32 bike trailer and we then later built hitch mounted versions. We have been using the system in it's current form for 4 years and have transported hundreds of customer's bikes over thousands of kilometres of Karoo dirt roads.

We will start shipping the 4 bike KAROORAK in late February 2024.
Production parts and powder coating will be outsourced to companies in the George, Western Cape area, assembly, quality assurance and packaging will be done at our warehouse and shipped out using the "The Courier Guy".  Customer assembly will be relatively simple using spanners and allen keys.

We will initially be producing about 4 to 5 racks per week, given each rack will be assembled, tested for quality assurance and then dismantled for packaging and shipping.
You can place a priority reservation in the production line if you so wish.

This is an example of a 2 bolt hitch mechanism, we have a plate that bolts in behind the towing ball, it remains on the vehicle and does not interfere with normal trailer towing.
